IDT Participant Training

Laapeng Foundation delivers the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) and Integrated Development Training (IDT) to create meaningful work opportunities across Mpumalanga. This programme is designed to empower young people and community members with practical experience, workplace skills, and the confidence to transition into longer-term careers.

Hands-on Jobs That Build Skills and Community

Through EPWP, participants are placed into practical roles that contribute to community health, safety and development. Our teams work on projects that strengthen local programmes while building participants� confidence and work habits.

  • Community outreach and awareness support for health, HIV/AIDS, GBV and substance-use prevention.
  • Event coordination, site preparation and logistics support for Laapeng programmes.
  • Maintenance, clean-up and community improvement activities in public spaces.
  • Administrative support, data collection and learner engagement.

Integrated Development Training

IDT is a practical training component that complements EPWP placements. The training focuses on workplace readiness, communication, safety, and the technical skills needed for local projects. Participants leave with experience that can support future internships, learnerships and jobs.
