EPWP / IDT Programme
Laapeng Foundation delivers the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) and Integrated Development Training (IDT) to create meaningful work opportunities across Mpumalanga. This programme is designed to empower young people and community members with practical experience, workplace skills, and the confidence to transition into longer-term careers.
EPWP Work Experience
Through EPWP, participants are placed into practical roles that contribute to community health, safety and development. Our teams work on projects that strengthen local programmes while building participants confidence and work habits.
Integrated Development Training
IDT is a practical training component that complements EPWP placements. The training focuses on workplace readiness, communication, safety, and the technical skills needed for local projects. Participants leave with experience that can support future internships, learnerships and jobs.
Programme Benefits
Laapeng's EPWP / IDT programme supports participants with financial relief and a platform to grow. While on placement, beneficiaries gain practical experience, improve their employability, and connect with support services across our programme network.
Laapeng Foundation works primarily across key communities in Mpumalanga, with an emphasis on youth and women. The EPWP / IDT programme is delivered in partnership with local stakeholders, ensuring that participants are linked to relevant community services and development opportunities.
Laapeng's EPWP experience has grown over several years, reflecting our commitment to poverty alleviation, youth enterprise, and community resilience. We continue to expand the programme while keeping a strong focus on meaningful impact and sustainable opportunity.
