Our Approach
We create supportive environments where young people can speak openly, learn confidently and build resilience with trusted adults and peers. We currently provide safe spaces in Nkomazi Sub District and Bushbuckridge Sub District.
Through the AGYW/AYP programme, we strengthen young people’s confidence and future prospects by building practical life skills, leadership abilities, and decision-making capacity. We support them to make informed choices about health, education, relationships and career pathways.
When additional care is needed, we connect young people to services, mentors and community networks that continue supporting their journey.
We began our AGYW/AYP journey in 2019–2022 through the in-school AGYW programme in Mbombela Sub District, laying the foundation for early prevention, support and health education among young people.
In 2024–2025, we expanded into the AYP out-of-school programme, working in Matsulu and Barberton, with safe spaces established in those locations to support young people beyond the school environment.
Currently, the 2025–2028 AYP out-of-school programme continues to grow, following the My Journey programme guidelines and focusing on HIV prevention, wellbeing, referrals and community-based support.
